One sentence BIG IDEA:
Creating long form video then publishing it to your website, social media PLUS leveraging it as a podcast across iTunes, Spotify, and other podcasting networks.
Why is this relevant to marketers?
Short video is absolutely the way to go for most video at the top of the funnel but long form video is a growing trend we’re seeing with clients that want to build a following and get established as thought leaders in their industries. Clients are creating long form video by interviewing industry experts, prospects and/or clients to produce 18 to 20-minute video segments. This becomes content for their website, YouTube channel and now we’re helping clients turn the audio it into podcasts. We’re most excited about taking this content and creating podcasts.
Listening to podcasts continues to grow in popularity. 22% of Americans listen podcasts weekly up from 17% last year and 40% listen monthly. There are tons of stats on the growth but the one that stands out for marketers is that 54% of Podcast Listeners Are More Likely to Consider Buying an Advertised Product. As an added value, clients deepen relationships with the guests on their show. The resulting content can be standalone long form content or cut into smaller snackable content pieces all while establishing a following as thought leaders across social media and the podcasting worlds.
